Roku televisions use Screen mirroring. Of the 8 Android phone families we track, 5 can mirror to one over Wi-Fi, and 3 cannot at all because the two devices share no protocol.

Three steps, and the first is the one that decides whether the other two matter.
Find your phone in the table above. If it says Not over Wi-Fi, stop here - no app or setting will change that, and the fix is an adapter or a Chromecast.

Same Wi-Fi network and same band on both. Several brands only advertise themselves once mirroring is already open on the TV, which is why scanning first so often finds nothing.
There is no software fix for a missing protocol. Both of these are more reliable than wireless mirroring anyway.
Samsung Galaxy, Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO, OPPO / realme / vivo, Tecno / Infinix / itel, Huawei / HONOR can mirror to a Roku TV over Wi-Fi. Google Pixel, OnePlus, Motorola cannot at all, because those phones and Roku televisions share no mirroring protocol - no app can bridge that.

Roku's default mirroring mode is Prompt, so the very first connection attempt fails unless somebody is holding the TV remote to accept it. Set it to Always allow before you troubleshoot anything else. If your phone and TV do share a protocol, the next things to check are that both are on the same Wi-Fi network and the same band, and that the network is not a guest network with client isolation switched on.
Roku televisions accept Miracast.
