How to mirror to an Amazon Fire TV

Three steps, and the first is the one that decides whether the other two matter.

Confirm the pair can work

Find your phone in the table above. If it says Not over Wi-Fi, stop here - no app or setting will change that, and the fix is an adapter or a Chromecast.

Open mirroring on the Amazon Fire TV

Press and hold the Home button, then choose Mirroring

Then start from the phone

Same Wi-Fi network and same band on both. Several brands only advertise themselves once mirroring is already open on the TV, which is why scanning first so often finds nothing.

What else to know about Amazon Fire TV TVs

  • Fire TV uses Miracast where it is supported, and does not include Google Cast.
  • Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max have generally retained mirroring; some Lite and newer models have not.

If your phone is not compatible

There is no software fix for a missing protocol. Both of these are more reliable than wireless mirroring anyway.

  • A USB-C to HDMI adapter. Works on any phone with DisplayPort Alt Mode, needs no network, and has effectively no lag.
  • A Chromecast or Google TV streamer plugged into the Amazon Fire TV, which gives it Google Cast support.

Which Android phones can mirror to an Amazon Fire TV?

Samsung Galaxy, Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO, OPPO / realme / vivo, Tecno / Infinix / itel, Huawei / HONOR can mirror to an Amazon Fire TV over Wi-Fi. Google Pixel, OnePlus, Motorola cannot at all, because those phones and Amazon Fire TV televisions share no mirroring protocol - no app can bridge that.

Where is screen mirroring in the Amazon Fire TV menu?

Press and hold the Home button, then choose Mirroring. Amazon Fire TV televisions use Display Mirroring.

Why does my Amazon Fire TV TV not show up when I scan?

Amazon has removed Display Mirroring from several newer and lower-tier Fire TV Sticks. On those devices the menu entry simply does not exist, so no app can enable it. Hold Home and look for Mirroring before assuming a phone-side fault. If your phone and TV do share a protocol, the next things to check are that both are on the same Wi-Fi network and the same band, and that the network is not a guest network with client isolation switched on.

Does an Amazon Fire TV support Miracast or Chromecast?

Amazon Fire TV televisions accept Miracast.
