Why an iPhone cannot use Anyview Cast
Miracast is a Wi-Fi Alliance standard. Apple never adopted it, building AirPlay instead, and the two are not interoperable in either direction. So when a Hisense TV advertises itself over Anyview Cast, an iPhone has nothing to answer with. The TV is working and the phone is working — they simply do not speak the same language.
This is worth stating plainly because a number of sites currently ranking for this question imply otherwise, usually by describing an app as “Anyview Cast for iPhone”. No third-party app can add Miracast to iOS. Apple does not expose the necessary APIs, and an App Store app cannot reach that layer of the system.
What actually works for an iPhone and a Hisense TV
- Check whether your Hisense model supports AirPlay 2. Some do, and it varies by year, region and platform. Where it is present it is the native route and needs no app. Our compatibility matrix covers Android protocols, so it does not track AirPlay on Hisense — check the model’s own specification.
- Use a Lightning or USB-C to HDMI adapter. Apple’s own adapter mirrors any iPhone to any TV with a spare HDMI port, with no protocol matching and no latency. It is the option that always works.
- Add an Apple TV, or a Chromecast for supported apps. An Apple TV gives any television full AirPlay. A Chromecast does not mirror an iPhone’s whole screen, but individual apps with a cast button will send video to it.
